Full Story: http://www.davecarrollmusic.com/story/united-breaks-guitars –

In the spring of 2008, Sons of Maxwell were traveling to Nebraska for a one-week tour and my Taylor guitar was witnessed being thrown by United Airlines baggage handlers in Chicago. I discovered later that the $3500 guitar was severely damaged. They didn’t deny the experience occurred but for nine months the various people I communicated with put the responsibility for dealing with the damage on everyone other than themselves and finally said they would do nothing to compensate me for my loss.

So I promised the last person to finally say no to compensation (Ms. Irlweg) that I would write and produce three songs about my experience with United Airlines and make videos for each to be viewed online by anyone in the world. United Breaks Guitars is the first of those songs.

  1. Such a great use of Media to get to that Airline. Just so great. WE need one to counter Baggage check fees on top of the ticket cost. United collected $1.2 Billion, That's BILLION is just the last quarter in Baggage check fees. PLANE ROBBERY, CB

  2. That Taylor guitar was worth 3500$ and the owner of Taylor Guitars (Bob Taylor) gave him two new guitars and props for the 2nd and 3rd ubg songs. This is how a company should handle its customers. Not like United and Gibson fucking guitars. If you're not into guitars then you might not know what the fuck is going on with Gibson

  3. We have a video in process to explain how FedEx ruined our $6000 bass guitar that we attempted to ship to LA. It should be out by December, 2017 on the Ultimate Basses YouTube channel. Of course, they denied our damage claim. These irresponsible companies need to be accountable for their errors. Kudos to Taylor for stepping in to help.

  4. Be thankful to UA, Dave. They could have broken YOU instead. You ended up with broken guitar, not yourself. Isn't that something to be thankful for?

  5. A good idea, great video, but the song is about a minute and a half too long… Take the cue from commercials & make your "anti-commercials" nearly as short, to give your message more impact.

  6. too bad he got another guitar and kept playing…those baggage are the real heroes trying to save our ears from this god awful shitty music
